Week 7 - Thoughts

Was thrilled to get the Internet Awar eness Project completed! I love all that I am learning in Power Point. That's what I used to make the brochure and flyer!

Absolutely LOVE the interactive whiteboards! I may just have to save up to buy one for my classroom if the school I work for doesn't provide them!

Thanks for all your input and making me learn how to use Power Point so well!

P. S. - I can't believe it but I saw you earlier this morning (Friday) while you were jogging over by the Hobble Creek Golf Course! I was on my way to drop off my son at the Cub Scout daycamp by the Rotary Park up Hobble Creek Canyon about 7:45 am this morning. Small world isn't it?!?!?

Have a great weekend! OUR Summer is almost here!!!!!

Week 6 - Thoughts

I'm on a roll now!!!

I finally got all caught up, and I will have to say - I got pretty good at that Power Point thing!

I can't wait to start using Power Point for all kinds of lesson teaching and fun projects! My family was so impressed that I made that presentation out of their photos, and we loved the collage from Picasa.

I've already informed my family and some of my friends about Picasa. Now I won't get yelled at for not getting updated photos to my Mom down in Texas.

I already have a couple of good digital cameras, so I figure I will make one my classroom camera until I can research and find the best one for my budget.

I'm getting a little overwhelmed with these last two weeks of school, though. I will do my best to stay caught up. I'm a little slow in getting started on the final. Would you possibly consider making that Topic in Instructional Technology activity an extra credit activity? I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Week 5 - Thoughts

I really am enjoying learning about all this cool, new stuff to do with Power Point and with digital cameras. I'm just a little slow in getting my projects finished. I guess I just have too much on my plate right now. I will work really hard this week to get caught up and stay that way!

I hope that I can continue to learn about new developments even after this class is finished. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep up with all the new trends?

Week 4 - Thoughts

I'm so frustrated because I don't see where it shows the properties option when you right click on a picture in My Documents. I finished the concept map, but I can't get it uploaded correctly.

Week 3 - Thoughts

Thanks so much for all the help on putting tables into my uen pages. I think they really enhance the look of each page. It really helps to manage the position of the pictures as well.

However, I have had to load the additional images numerous times on my CultureGram page. The 3 extra pictures won't stay loaded into the table for some reason. And the images came from the Culture Gram section of the Pioneer Library website, so I can't figure out why I keep losing them.

I absolutely love all the links and search sites in Pioneer Library. The possibilities are ENDLESS!!! My only complaint is that there is too much to look at! I was on the site forever!

Love the class, learning tons!!!

Week 2 - Thoughts

I inadvertently missed the Sunday night deadline for this blog! I knew it would have to happen at least once this semester!

This week I have just gotten to touch on what it is like to physically make a page that my students will be able to use and learn from. I can't wait to master this because I intend to incorporate this type of teaching into my curriculum.

However, there are so many different sources to go through, so that is something I will definitely have to put a lot more research into.

Week 1 - Thoughts

This was a short week to absorb such a wealth of knowledge, but I managed to learn a few things. Technology has come a long way in a very short amount of time. The future possibilities and applications are endless. Ten years ago, no one could have imagined that we would have come as far as we have. And yet, here we are - surpassing any and all expectations where technology is concerned. Information and day-to-day dealings are instantaneous - news has become global, financial concerns have become global, and any fact to be researched can be found with a few keystrokes within a few seconds. What I do here in my little corner of the world can have a quick and direct effect on someone across the globe.

Technology has made us one world, interacting and reacting immediately to one another with as far a reach as can be imagined. We are no longer separate countries and cultures coexisting on this planet. Technology has intermingled us in such varied ways, that we really don't know where our personal life ends and another begins.

I can't wait to invent and discover all the different ways we can incorporate the endless forms of technology into our classrooms to help students reach their full academic potential!
